Craun Fansler arrived in the Philippines in 1980

Revision as of 01:44, 3 April 2017

I think the guy farthest left is Casey Telicazan that Walt Daniels played rugby with at Clark AB in 78-79

Dennis Gill played flanker for a half as a guest with the Clark Outlaws versus a small but very skillful Japanese team. DGill was visiting from Okinawa. I do not have a roster, but have a couple of articles from the local paper, the Philippine Flyer.

From foggy memory I can list the names of most players:

Capt Walt Daniels, flyhalf and team captain Maj Bill Booker, inside center, dental officer (he and I are co-grandmasters of the Angeles City Hash House Harriers) SMSgt Jim Esque, hooker, hospital admin A1C Charlie Mills, scrumhalf and wrote for the local paper and Stars and Stripes Jim Pinnick, forward, local US civilian with a business in Angeles City, also Grand Master of the Taipei Hash House Harriers Richard Kent Walker, I think he was 18 years old and a dependent son, believe he played flanker. From McKinney, TX. Richard ?, a British expat from Yorkshire, fullback Denny King, an airman that played wing, very fast and tough to tackle. I think he worked on the flight line. Dave Ditton, forward, an NCO from one of the clinics in the hospital Frank ?, another NCO from the hospital, I think he played center and fullback Paul Glaser, and airman that played wing Thomas Tokash ? (saw his name in the Flyer) Miller, a pararescue guy Casey Telicazan, loose forward?

Charlie Mills and I were asked to join the Manila Nomads tour of Hong Kong in 1979, which we did.

I will contact Bill Booker to see if he remembers more details.
