The 15s logo originally had the year of the AF championships, but when we started winning them all it was converted to "XV". The eagle represents the warrior ethos of rugby and the stars are the fifteen players. Not sure where the rugby player running came from. The black F-16 represents our fallen ruggers.  Prior to that, we had a logo that was a spin-off of the Combined Services logo, as the designer of that logo designed the Air Force one.

We had a hybrid logo before that when Coach McQuaide asked Tom Beers to design a logo that was distinct and completely different from the traditional 15s look to put into the Las Vegas Sevens program.  Tom asked for a little more guidance, as all good designers tend to do, and Andy said "c'mon Tom you are the designer, just make it swooshy with an airplane contrail and work in the number 7 and I am sure it will be good". Tom did a great job!

Introduction

The U.S. Air Force Men’s Rugby sevens team is comprised of top athletes from active duty, guard, and reserve forces from around the world pursuing excellence and integrity to become leaders, innovators, and warriors. They take the pitch with only 7 but in their jersey lies the entire support of Air Force ruggers and warriors from around the world who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
