The Sevens logo was adopted in 2013 after the first year of Sevens. We had a hybrid logo before that.  The 15s logo has been that as long as I have been around with minor modifications, but generally that design. I can't really speculate, but perhaps as far back as the mid 90s.

We had a hybrid logo before that when Coach McQuaide asked Tom Beers to design a logo that was distinct and completely different from the traditional 15s look to put into the Las Vegas Sevens programTom asked for a little more guidance, as all good designers tend to do, and Andy said "c'mon Tom you are the designer, just make it swooshy with an airplane contrail and work in the number 7 and I am sure it will be good". Tom did a great job!

The 15s logo originally had the year of the AF championships, but when we started winning them all it was converted to the XV. The eagle represents the warrior ethos of rugby and the start are fifteen players. Not sure where the rugby player running came from. The black F-16 represents our fallen ruggers.  Prior to that, we had a logo that was a spin-off of the Combined Services logo, as the designer of that logo designed the Air Force one,

Introduction
