Camp Lejeune Rugby Football Club
The Camp Lejeune Rugby Football Club was founded in 1970/80s?? as the Camp Lejeune Misfits. Originally New River air station had it's own team but was merged with Lejeune as a result of low turnout. The Misfits wear one red and one black sock as a symbol of both club merger. Lejeune plays clubs from all over the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia. Many of the clubs members go on to play at the collegiate level, The Marine Corps Old Breed and for the All-Marine Rugby Team. In August 2016 a women's team was founded by spouses and friends of players on the Misfits.
