The week priot to the 1985 Club Championships, each Service held a 'service camp' to select their top talent for potential observation by the Combined Service Selectors.  Dick Battock and Ron Hagan led the Air Force camp effort that year and their efforts put together our first Air Force Select side that competed in the fall 1985 Intraservice Championships.  The following early Spring of 86, Col. Battock sent out an [[AF Select Side letter]] to potential select side players in preparation for the September 86 championships.  Recognizing we needed a full complement of administrative help, Dick chaired the first Air Force Rugby leadership meeting where the following officers were selected:
